Jason Adam Records Second Save
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jason Adam collected his second save of the season on Thursday, recording the final three outs to preserve a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. It wasn't the smoothest of outings for the righty, as he allowed two unearned runs after an error early in the frame made things shaky. He allowed a hit and a walk, but did strike out the side. It appears Adam has been thrust into the closer role with Pete Fairbanks (forearm) landing on the 15-day IL. Although Fairbanks said his injury isn't serious, forearm injuries (along with Raynaud's Syndrome) can easily flare back up. Knowing this, Adam should be owned in any league where saves are valuable, at least until we know Fairbanks is healthy.
