Jason Adam Earns First Save Of Season Tuesday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jason Adam notched his first save of the season in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Pirates. Adam came in to close things out up by three. He struck the first two hitters out, allowed a single, and then ended the game with a third strikeout. The 31-year-old has now converted half of his save opportunities to go with a stellar 1.59 ERA. The Rays are notorious for mixing up their late-inning bullpen use and Pete Fairbanks has seen the team's most save opportunities with three. However, his Raynaud's syndrome flared up during his outing last Friday, so that may have impacted Adam getting the opportunity. Either way, both Fairbanks and Adam are worth a roster spot in deep roto leagues, with the edge going to Fairbanks.
