Jarred Kelenic Looks Ready To Return
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic (foot) went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, an RBI, two runs scored and two strikeouts in a minor-league rehab game for Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday night while also playing a full game in right field for the second straight day. The 24-year-old has gone 4-for-9 in the last two games with Tacoma with three doubles, a home run, a walk and four runs scored. He's now played in six rehab games and appears to be ready to return to the big leagues for the first time since breaking his foot on July 19. It would be a surprise if Kelenic isn't back with Seattle by this weekend against the Tampa Bay Rays, and he should return to everyday duties in the outfield to close out the year. The post-hype prospect will be returning to a .252/.320/.439 slash line with 11 homers, 45 RBI, 12 steals and 43 runs in 326 at-bats.
