Jarlin Susana Bringing The Heat In Camp
32 seconds agoWashington Nationals right-hander Jarlin Susana hit 100 mph during his first bullpen session of the spring and was throwing more gas during live batting practice session at camp on Thursday. In addition to a triple-digit heater, Susana showed his slider, which made first baseman James Wood look foolish. "I'd rather face Jose A. Ferrer 100 times than that guy," said one unnamed member of the hitting group. "For fear of taking one off the back of my skull." The 20-year-old Dominican isn't going to break camp with the Nationals, but the 6-foot-6, 235-pounder is certainly one to keep an eye on as he continues his development in the minors this year. At High-A and Single-A in 2024, Susana had a 4.34 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 157 K's and 48 walks in 103 2/3 innings. Susana will focus on throwing more strikes on the farm, but he'll be popular in fantasy circles whenever he gets the call to the majors in a regular starting role.
