Jaren Jackson Jr. Stuffs Stat Sheet Friday Night
1 year agoMemphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. put in a superb all-around performance in Friday's 115-113 overtime loss against Portland. He recorded 30 points on 11-for-17 shooting, posted his first double-double of the season by grabbing 10 rebounds, and capped off his line with three assists, one steal, and three blocks. Half of Jackson Jr.'s points came from downtown with 5-for-8 shooting. The 24-year-old boasts two 30-point performances in three games, and he's been a blocking machine as usual, averaging 2.5 swats for the year, but the Grizzlies are still winless six games into the season. Jackson Jr. was the starting center Friday for Memphis after David Roddy took Xavier Tillman Sr.'s spot in the unit. The team returns to action Sunday in a rematch against the Blazers, and Jackson Jr. showed on Friday that this matchup suits him perfectly, so we can expect to see another big performance from him.
