Jaren Jackson Jr. Posts Big First Half Versus Detroit
5 years agoMemphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. ran amok in the first half against the Pistons on Friday, scoring 20 points. He cooled off during the second half and got into foul trouble, but still managed to put together a nice line with 29 points, six rebounds, two blocks and one steal on 10-for-14 shooting. He missed only from downtown, finishing 4-for-8 with the three-ball. Jackson Jr. has been in superb form from deep this month, which has helped him record some big nights, but he tends to get into foul trouble quite often, so you always take a risk by playing him.

Jaren Jackson Jr. Could Return On Friday
1 week agoMemphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) has a chance to return from a five-game absence after being listed as questionable for Friday's contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The former Defensive Player of the Year sprained his ankle on March 3 against the Atlanta Hawks and hasn't been able to take the court since then. If he's unable to suit up, Zach Edey and GG Jackson II should remain as the starting frontcourt. Brandon Clarke should also see some more opportunities off of the bench, but Edey provides the most stability with 9.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Jaren Jackson Jr. Week-To-Week With A Sprained Ankle
2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain in Monday's meeting with the Hawks. He is considered week-to-week, with the Grizzlies providing an update "as appropriate." The 25-year-old has averaged a career-high 22.7 points with 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals during the 2024-25 campaign. He was also named an All-Star for the second time in his career. But now that he'll be on the shelf, Brandon Clarke, amassing 11 points, seven boards, and one block against Atlanta, could work his way back into a consistent role in the rotation. Clarke may even get a few starts, at least until Santi Aldama (calf), who is questionable against OKC on Wednesday, is cleared to suit up. GG Jackson II may also be in line for more work, with Desmond Bane and Ja Morant (shoulder) the favorites to carry more of the load on the offensive end.

Jaren Jackson Jr. Will Suit Up Versus Houston
2 months agoMemphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh) will suit up versus the Rockets on Thursday. The 25-year-old missed the first two games of the 2024-25 campaign. However, he's been on the court ever since, with that trend continuing on Thursday against Houston. Jackson has had a fantastic season, averaging a career-high 22.7 points with 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 1.5 steals, making him a must-start in all fantasy formats despite a challenging matchup against a Rockets team that has allowed only 106.8 points per game, the third-best in the National Basketball Association.

Jaren Jackson Jr. May Sit On Thursday Due To Thigh Soreness
2 months agoMemphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh) has picked up a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's matchup against Houston. He is nursing thigh soreness and might be out of action for the first time since missing the first two games of the season. Jay Huff was promoted to the starting unit for the second half against Dallas on Monday, and Jackson Jr.'s absence could give him further momentum. Brandon Clarke and Jake LaRavia might also benefit, while Santi Aldama (ankle) is on the comeback trail and is definitely a candidate to put in a big shift on the frontcourt.
