Jared Young, Austin Warren Optioned to Triple-A
46 seconds agoThe New York Mets have assigned first baseman Jared Young and right-handed pitcher Austin Warren to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday. Young signed an MLB contract with the Mets earlier in the offseason. However, he will begin his 2025 season in the minor leagues. Last season, Young spent his entire campaign playing for Triple-A Memphis. Across 74 contests, Young posted a .285/.411/.506 slash line with 15 and 11 round-trippers. He last appeared in the major league during the 2023 season with the Chicago Cubs. Warren was claimed off waivers by the Mets during the winter. Last summer, Warren logged 10 2/3 innings in the majors with the Giants. He held a 1.69 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP. Across 23 frames at Triple-A, Warren held a 4.70 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. Both players will be used as depth options for the Mets throughout the 2025 season.
