Jared Goff Praises Kalif Raymond
3 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff said that wide receiver Kalif Raymond reminds him of his favorite receiver when he was with the Rams -- Cooper Kupp. Raymond has emerged as Goff's most dependable weapon in the team's low-volume passing attack. He has 26 catches for 334 yards through seven weeks. In his first five NFL seasons, Raymond had 19 receptions for four different teams. He has emerged in the offense with both Tyrell Williams (concussion) and Quintez Cephus (collarbone) injured and has become the Lions best deep threat with six catches of 20-plus yards (tops on the team). Raymond had six catches for a season-high 115 yards in last week's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but a lot of that had to do with the fact that Jalen Ramsey was locking down rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown on one side of the field. Raymond has become of one Goff's favorite targets and is worth stashing for receiver depth, but he hasn't quite earned weekly flex viability in this low-volume passing attack.
