Jared Goff Faces Exposable Tampa Bay Secondary
5 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff continues to remain average; in Week 3, the fourth-year quarterback had 24 completions on 38 attempts for two TDs in the team’s 20-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns. While the stat line looks passable on paper and Goff appeared to be more effective in the second half of the contest, he struggled to close out the game, having one of his two interceptions occur on the Rams final drive. What matters for head coach Sean McVay is that the team remains undefeated, and though the Rams face a Tampa Bay secondary that was brutalized by rookie Daniel Jones, Goff may remain as more of a game manager than an aggressive, deep-ball QB. Still, the matchup with the Buccaneers could be high-scoring, so Goff should be ranked as a low-end QB1 for Week 4. However, fantasy owners should be aware that the Rams are likely to have a positive, run-first game script in the second half.
