Jameson Taillon Allows Six Runs In Loss
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon struggled for a second straight start in Tuesday's loss to the Angels. Taillon pitched six innings, allowing six runs on five hits while walking a pair of batters. The former Pirate struck out six batters and generated a very impressive 20 swinging strikes, 10 of them coming on his fastball. It's a bit strange to see such good underlying numbers paired with bad counting stats, but such was the nature of Taillon's start against Los Angeles, who certainly benefitted from some good batted ball luck thanks to a .333 BABIP. It's frustrating to see Taillon put up back-to-back rough starts, though the swing-and-miss stuff was there, which is encouraging for his status moving forward. Unfortunately, the matchups don't get any easier, as he is lined up to face a tough Blue Jays lineup next. It might be best to leave Taillon on benches for that tilt.
