James Wood Hits Two Homers, Plates Five Tuesday
6 days agoWashington Nationals designated hitter James Wood had his second consecutive strong offensive game in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Dodgers. Wood went 3-for-4 with a single, a pair of two-run home runs, five RBI, and a walk. The 22-year-old got things started with a first-inning shot over the left-center wall against Justin Wrobleski, and he took Wroblenski into the right-field seats in the fourth inning. Wood has three HR in his last two games and is off to a solid offensive start overall, slashing .275/.356/.625 with four HR, 10 RBI, and two stolen bases in 45 plate appearances. The Nationals may not be the most competitive offensive team this season, but Wood should be poised to provide plenty of fantasy value, especially if he can keep his power swing going.
