James Wood Battles Through Uneven Season In Double-A
1 year agoWashington Nationals outfield prospect James Wood continues to battle the ups and downs throughout his season with the Harrisburg Senators. While the 20-year-old has struggled in some areas of his game, he continues to flash the tools that make him a consensus top-10 prospect in baseball. In 48 games since his promotion to Double-A, the outfielder is hitting just .225 with a 32% strikeout rate. Wood does have nine home runs and six steals with Harrisburg, showing the power and speed combo that has fantasy managers excited about his future. The outfielder is on the younger side for his league, and his overall minor league numbers for the season stand at a respectable .256/.352/.515 with 17 homers and 14 steals. While Wood looks to improve his production over the remainder of the season, he still should be considered a top prospect for dynasty leagues and could make an impact as soon as the second half of 2024.
