James Triantos Dealing With Leg Tightness
29 seconds agoChicago Cubs infield prospect James Triantos was removed from last Thursday's Triple-A Iowa game due to tightness in his leg and has missed both games since. Sunday's game was postponed and the team had a day off on Monday, so, after two days off, it will be telling as to the severity of the injury if he remains absent when the team returns to action on Tuesday. The Cubs' fifth-ranked prospect (MLB No. 69) was slashing just .231/.273/.269 with no home runs through 13 games this season, but did have six stolen bases racked up already. The right-handed hitter slashed .300/.346/.427 between Double and Triple-A last season with seven home runs and 47 steals over 115 games, and won the Arizona Fall League's Offensive Player of the Year award in 2023. He's expected to make his major league debut this season, according to MLB.com, but Nico Hoerner blocks his path at the 22-year-old's primary position. His potential to hit for average and tally stolen bases would make him intriguing for fantasy in deeper leagues whenever he does get the call.
