2 years agoThe Athletic's Chad Graff left New England Patriots running backs James Robinson and J.J. Taylor off his roster projection this offseason. The Patriots also have Rhamondre Stevenson, Pierre Strong Jr., Kevin Harris and Ty Montgomery at the position. Robinson was a 1,000-yard runner just three years ago as a rookie for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he was waived by the Jags last year and never found his footing with the Jets, who had concerns about his speed. Montgomery missed all of 2022 with an injury, but Graff likes him over Robinson as an important third-down back. Strong will also face stiff competition to keep his kick-return job after the Patriots used two late-round picks in the draft on speedy defensive backs who can return kicks. Robinson gives the Pats some RB depth, but he's hardly a lock to make the team this summer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
