James Paxton Will Land On DL But Injury Not Serious
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton's (back) lower back stiffness isn't believed to be "lingering issue," according to general manager Jerry Dipoto. However, Dipoto said Paxton will go on the disabled list, but the plan is to bring him back for the fourth game of the second half against the Giants. Paxton allowed three runs in just two-thirds of an inning against the Angels on Thursday and left the game. This is good news for Paxton, though, as the team's ace shouldn't miss much time at all. He is 8-4 with a 3.70 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and career-high 11.7 K/9 in 20 starts.
