James Paxton Leaves Early Friday, Needs MRI
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton (knee) left his start after just three innings on Friday with left knee soreness, and he'll undergo an MRI exam on Saturday. The left-hander threw 64 pitches (32 strikes) in the outing and allowed only an unearned run despite loading the bases with one out in the second and third innings. Paxton has been on the disabled list at least twice each of the last two years and once every year since 2014. The 30-year-old entered the night having allowed three earned runs in his last three outings for a 3.38 ERA, so his fantasy owners are hoping this injury won't keep him out for long. Check back Saturday for an update on his injury.
