Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder James Outman is not in the lineup on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays. This looks to just be a day off for the 26-year-old who's slashing just .156/.235/.267 over the last 15 games. Mookie Betts is starting in right field, Jason Heyward is in center, and David Peralta is in left field against Tampa starter Tyler Glasnow, who is making his season debut.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder James Outman has enjoyed an impressive week at Triple-A and was named Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week. Over his last seven contests, the outfielder has held a .448/.467/.828 slash line with three doubles, one triple, and two home runs. He has also swiped two bags over this stretch and posted three multi-hit games. This is an excellent sign for Outman, as he held a modest .172/.264/.370 slash line over his first 19 games of the regular season. Outman spent most of the 2023 season in the majors but appeared in only 53 games in 2024, as he was frequently shifted between the big leagues and Triple-A. Fantasy managers should monitor his progression at Oklahoma City, as he could be in the mix to return to the majors. If he does get the call, he could be worth adding in NL-only formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Jason Heyward (knee) on the 10-day injured list with a left-knee contusion, according to manager Dave Roberts. The good news is that Heyward's meniscus and ligaments are intact. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers recalled outfielder James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 34-year-old Heyward could be back shortly after the All-Star break as a left-handed-hitting platoon outfielder for LA. Heyward has only 118 at-bats in 2024 due to injuries and is hitting a weak .203/.299/.398 with four homers, 20 RBI and 16 runs scored. Outma, 27, was sent to the farm in May and hit .285/.396/.556 with 10 homers and 22 RBI in 182 plate appearances for Oklahoma City. He figures to see occasional starts against righties. On Friday, Miguel Vargas enters the outfield picture in left field and will bat seventh for the Blue.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder James Outman went 2-for-5 with a home run Thursday evening. In his past seven games at Triple-A Oklahoma City, the 27-year-old has launched three long balls and held a strong .594 SLG. The Sacramento State product was demoted to Triple-A on May 27 after getting off to a slow start in the majors. Through his time in the minors this season, Outman has performed exceptionally well with a .291/.419/.563, seven long home runs, five swiped bags, 18 RBI, and a 19:31 BB:K ratio. In 36 games in the majors in the early part of the season, Outman struggled with a .147/.250/.266 line, which is why he was optioned. However, with his recent play at Triple-A he could rejoin the Dodgers fairly soon and could be worth adding in deeper redraft leagues as he should provide a solid combination of power and speed.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder James Outman went 1-for-5 with a solo home run for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Outman has had three homers and eight RBI in June, along with a .226 batting average. The 27-year-old was optioned to Triple-A by the Dodgers on May 17. Since then, he has hit .292 with six homers, 16 RBI, and a .987 OPS. With Mookie Betts (hand) set to miss time, Outman could be on the radar for a call-up to the major leagues. He hit just .147 in 109 at-bats with the Dodgers this season, but his numbers since his demotion to the minors have been good, and they suggest he may be ready for another shot in L.A. Given another opportunity, Outman could be an interesting waiver-wire addition.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller
