James McCann Hits First Homer On Wednesday
4 years agoNew York Mets catcher James McCann went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Mets' 5-1 win over the Phillies on Wednesday. It was McCann's first homer of the 2021 campaign and his first with the Mets. With the solid performance on Wednesday, McCann raised his batting average to .280 on the season over 25 at-bats. McCann posted a .289/.360/.536 slash line to go with seven home runs and 15 RBI in the shortened 2020 season with the White Sox. Now with the Mets, McCann is the team's primary catcher assured of regular playing time while typically hitting sixth or seventh in a potent lineup. McCann should serve as a solid middle-tier catcher option throughout the 2021 season in mixed and NL-only fantasy formats.
