James Kaprielian To Begin Rehab Assignment Friday
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch for Low-A Stockton in a rehab outing on Friday, his first rehab start as he builds back up from spring shoulder irritation, according to manager Mark Kotsay. Kaprielian threw 45 pitches in a simulated game in Arizona on Sunday and was excited about the throwing session. If the 28-year-old right-hander can avoid any setbacks, he could make his season debut before the end of April. Kaprielian was solid for the A's last year, sporting a 4.07 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 123 strikeouts and 41 walks in 119 1/3 innings over 24 outings (21 starts).
