James Kaprielian Outrighted By A's
1 year agoThe Oakland Athletics outrighted right-hander James Kaprielian (shoulder), left-hander Sam Long and catcher Carlos Perez to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Kaprielian cleared waivers after he was on the 60-day injured list this year following surgery to fix the posterior labrum in his right shoulder in August. It remains to be seen if the 29-year-old will be ready to go for the start of spring training in 2024. In 14 outings (11 starts) before his injury in 2023, Kaprielian went 2-6 with a rough 6.34 ERA (5.08 FIP), 1.59 WHIP, 31 walks and 57 strikeouts in 61 innings pitched in his fourth big-league season with the A's. He has a career 4.61 ERA (4.67 FIP), 1.35 WHIP and 282 K's in 66 outings (58 starts) in his four seasons in the majors.
