James Hoyt Becomes Latest Reliever Traded To Miami
4 years agoThe Miami Marlins’ bullpen overhaul continued Saturday as they acquired right-handed pitcher James Hoyt from the Cleveland Indians. Hoyt had been designated for assignment earlier in the week after having appeared in eight games last season for Cleveland, allowing two runs and striking out 10 in 8 ⅓ innings. Miami has had to reconstruct its roster in the wake of the 18 positive COVID-19 results that the organization reported. Since then, the team has been sidelined for what will be over a week. With Richard Bleier also having been brought over to replenish the bullpen ranks, there is very little insight into how the team will deploy its arms once they return to the field.
