James Conner Could See Reduction In Carries
5 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to "cut back" running back James Conner's carries in the 2020 season, in the opinion of The Athletic's Ed Bouchette. Conner remains atop the team's running back depth chart, but he has a lot to prove this year after playing in just 10 games in 2019 due to injuries. He ran the ball 116 times for 464 yards (4.0 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. Conner made the Pro Bowl in 2018, but he hasn't played a full season in his three years and remains a big injury concern for the Steelers and fantasy owners alike. The team has options with Jaylen Samuels, Benny Snell Jr. and Kerrith Whyte, and rookie Anthony McFarland Jr. will be intriguing to watch as well. Conner must stay healthy and produce to keep the lion's share of the workload in 2020.
