Jamaal Williams Delivers In Consecutive Weeks
6 years agoGreen Bay running back Jamaal Williams had his second straight strong performance and his best game of the year in a Week 16 matchup against the New York Jets. He ran for 95 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. He added six catches for 61 yards through the air. Williams briefly left the game to be checked out for a possible concussion but later returned. Williams struggled earlier in the year but has looked very effective in the past two games. He has managed to get a larger workload in each due to an injury to starting running back Aaron Jones (knee). Jones has been placed on IR and will not be returning, so Williams will remain a strong fantasy option in Week 17 when he takes on a vulnerable Detroit Lions defense. Williams performance may simply be a case of fresh legs late in the season but the workload is high enough, particularly in the passing game, to warrant more usage. Still, there remains risk so he should only be viewed as a solid RB2 for Week 17.
