Jalin Turner Loses Second Straight Split Decision
1 year agoJalin Turner suffered a split-decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 290 on Saturday. Turner was coming off a split-decision setback to Mateusz Gamrot back in March. In the opening round, Turner had success and appeared to have Hooker rocked at one point. After winning the first round on all three judges' scorecards, Turner started to slow down and Hooker began to take over, landing heavy shots and mixing in some wrestling. When the final bell rang, both Turner and Hooker had their hand raised, but it was Hooker who got the split-decision win. With Turner losing his second straight fight, he likely will need to fight someone outside the top 15 to defend his spot.
