Jalen Hurd Showing Fiery Side Early On
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Jalen Hurd isn’t backing down to veteran bantering early in training camp. The third-round pick was recently involved in two altercations, after which head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated he doesn’t endorse fights but supports guys getting “competitive and angry”. Hurd will need to straddle that line while battling amongst a crowded receiving corps behind presumed starters Dante Pettis and Deebo Samuel. Hurd, a converted running back from Baylor rising to 6’5” and 226 pounds, could be a versatile weapon for the Niners. Rumors suggest Hurd could line up all over the field, possibly earning him multiple positional tags and making him universally more valuable in fantasy. First, he’ll need a strong camp to earn a clear path to reps and avoid any serious scrums in the workplace.
