Jalen Carter Faces Most Sack-Prone Quarterback in Week 4
1 year agoDT Jalen Carter and the Philadelphia Eagles face the league's most sack-prone quarterback, the Washington Commanders' Sam Howell, in Week 4. Howell has been sacked 19 times in three games, six more than any other quarterback. Last week, Howell was sacked nine times by the Buffalo Bills. Going back to Howell's first career start in Week 18 of last season, Howell has been sacked three or more times in each of the past four weeks. The Commanders' pass blocking is rated as mediocre by PFF, but Howell's sack tendency is also influenced by his high average time to throw and reluctance to get rid of the football. Howell is taking 2.9 seconds from snap to release on average, which is the ninth longest amongst starting quarterbacks. Carter and his teammates are strong starts in this favorable matchup.
