Jalen Beeks To Pitch Bulk Innings Tuesday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Jalen Beeks is lined up to take the ball after opener, Ryne Stanek, Tuesday against the Dodgers. In each of his last two outings, Beeks was not used for more than 3 1/3 innings, but did earn a win in both. He has only let up one run in his last 17 2/3 innings but isn’t recommended as a stream against a tough Dodgers lineup. The Dodgers are slightly worse against lefties (.778 OPS) than righties (.800 OPS), but the smart play is to sit Beeks on Tuesday. The Rays use the bullpen day sporadically so stay tuned in for updates with Stanek, Beeks, and the Rays other bulk pitchers, Yonny Chirinos and Ryan Yarborough. There is a chance that any of the three make straight starts in the near future as well, so keep an eye out. Beeks and Chirinos are the most valuable arms of the group at this time.
