Jakob Marsee Showing Elite Speed At Triple-A
37 seconds agoMiami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee has swiped four bags across the first four contests of the Triple-A regular season. While he has only tallied one hit across these games, Marsee has drawn five walks (.368 OBP) and made a significant impact on the basepaths. After not swiping a bag in the season opener, Marsee stole at least one in his past three games and posted a two-steal performance on Tuesday evening. Marsee is considered the No. 24 prospect in the Miami system on MLB Pipeline. Last summer, the 23-year-old spent most of his time at the Double-A level but finished the season at Triple-A. Across 115 total contests, Marsee swiped an impressive 44 bags while posting a modest .185 AVG but having a solid .341 OBP. If Marsee is able to develop his bat, he could become a prospect to monitor, given his elite speed. His upside is limited for now, as he relies heavily on his eye to reach first base.
