Jake Rogers Undergoes Tommy John Surgery
3 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (forearm) underwent Tommy John surgery in Dallas on Wednesday, manager AJ Hinch told reporters. The 26-year-old has been out of Detroit's lineup since July 19 after being diagnosed with a right forearm strain. Rogers will likely be sidelined until partway through the 2022 season, which is unfortunate given he was having a solid season at the plate hitting .239/.306/.496 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored on 27 hits. Eric Haase and Dustin Garneau will likely alternate catching duties down the stretch since the Tigers are so far out of a Wild Card spot.
