Jake Rogers Hits First Home Run On Friday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers went yard for his first home run of the year in Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs. It was a solo home run and his only hit on the day as he went 1-for-2 before being pinch-hit for in the ninth inning. Rogers has started three of the past four games for the Tigers with both Wilson Ramos (back) and Grayson Greiner (hamstring) on the injured list. Rogers should be the team's primary catcher in the interim while Ramos and Greiner are out. Eric Haase, who started on Thursday, is the team's current backup catcher. Rogers has gone 3-for-12 overall since his call-up last weekend. He isn't worth rostering in any fantasy leagues at this point.
