Jake Odorizzi Set To Make Twins Debut Friday
7 years agoNewly-acquired starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi is expected to make his Minnesota Twins debut this Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Odorizzi was acquired from Tampa Bay on Feb.17 but has yet to appear on the mound for his new team. He told reporters that he's fine physically, but the reason for his delay was due to the "logistical whirlwind" of being traded early in spring training. Odorizzi is slated to pitch either three innings or throw 50 pitches, whichever comes first on Friday. The right-hander posted a 10-8 record, 4.14 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 143 1/3 innings of work for the Rays in 2017. He's expected to anchor the middle of the Minnesota rotation this season.
