1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody (quad) should be able to play in Week 1, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers head coach told reporters on Wednesday that "Just as long as he doesn't have a setback. He's looking good now and I feel good about him. I'd be surprised if he's not there." The rookie kicker has been dealing with a quad injury but has been working out off to the side during practice this week. San Francisco was worried enough about his status late last week that they signed Matthew Wright to their practice squad. But it sounds like Moody is trending in the right direction and should be good to go for Sunday's tilt at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fantasy managers that are rostering Moody will want to keep tabs on the Niners injury report this weekend, however.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
