Jake McGee Earns 17th Save Of Season Wednesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Jake McGee notched his 17th save of the season in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Cardinals. McGee entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He got a groundout to start the inning, gave up a double, got the second out on a lineout, and struck out the final hitter to end the game. McGee has shared the closer's role with Tyler Rogers at times this season but appears to have the edge currently, converting 17 of 19 save opportunities with a 2.88 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and 28.9% strikeout rate. He has been a solid fantasy option this season, especially given how well the Giants have played overall.
