Jake Marisnick Flashing Power, If Not Average
7 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick homered in two of the Astros first three games, but those are his only hits thus far in the young season. He has also struck out seven times in his first 14 at-bats, a dubious trend that limited his value last season. Marisnick is fast and is an excellent center fielder, but his inconsistent bat has held him back from playing every day. He will see every opportunity to nail down the center field position but will need to make more contact. Marisnick hit a career-high 16 home runs last season.

Jake Marisnick Will Miss At Least Three Weeks
2 years agoAccording to Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts, outfielder Jake Marisnick (hamstring) will miss "at least three weeks." The 32-year-old, who recently joined the Dodgers, exited Tuesday's meeting against the Orioles because of a hamstring injury. However, Marisnick likely isn't featured on many fantasy rosters, and that probably won't change once he returns unless he becomes a consistent producer.

Jake Marisnick Exits Early Tuesday With Hamstring Injury
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Jake Marisnick (hamstring) exited Tuesday's 10-3 win over the Orioles early with an apparent hamstring injury, per Dodgers beat writer Bill Plunkett. The 32-year-old pinch-hit for Jason Heyward and went 1-for-1 with a single before being replaced by Chris Taylor after feeling something when running out to center field. Marisnick joined the Dodgers on July 15 and has slashed .237/.280/.408 in 83 plate appearances across three teams. While Plunkett mentioned that Marisnick may need to spend time on the injured list, fantasy managers should wait for further definitive news.

Jake Marisnick Signs Minor-League Deal With Dodgers
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent outfielder Jake Marisnick to a minor-league deal on Thursday, according to a source. Marisnick declined a minor-league assignment with the Detroit Tigers this week to become a free agent. It will be the veteran outfielder's third MLB team this year after he started the season with the Chicago White Sox. In 42 total games (77 plate appearances), the 32-year-old has hit .225/.263/.408 with two home runs, three doubles, two triples, 10 RBI, two stolen bases and 10 runs scored in a part-time role. At best, Marisnick will be a platoon option with James Outman in center field, so his fantasy ceiling is as outfield depth in NL-only leagues.

Tigers Trade For Jake Marisnick Tuesday
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers swung a deal with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, acquiring outfielder Jake Marisnick in exchange for cash considerations, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. The 32-year-old will join the big league club, and there will be a corresponding move on Wednesday. The team's in need of some outfield depth after losing Matt Vierling (back) to the 10-day injured list and Riley Greene (leg) leaving Tuesday's contest prematurely with a leg injury. It isn't clear how much playing time Marisnick will get, but even if he plays every day, fantasy managers can stay away from the career .228 hitter.
