Jake Irvin Set To Make MLB Debut Wednesday
2 years agoWashington Nationals pitching prospect Jake Irvin will make his Major League debut on Wednesday, starting the matchup with the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old is the club's 20th-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline and was a fourth-round draft pick back in 2018. Irvin has struggled this season in Triple-A, posting a 5.64 ERA with 20 punchout and 11 walks over 22.1 innings, but does own a career 3.80 ERA. He's replacing Chad Kuhl (foot) in the rotation after he landed on the 15-day injured list. Irvin is not a must-add by any means, and fantasy managers should wait and see how he reacts to MLB hitters before making a move, especially in shallower leagues.
