Jake Fromm Released By Washington
2 years agoQuarterback Jake Fromm was informed by the Washington Commanders that he did not make the initial 53-man roster. The former Georgia quarterback played in all three preseason games for Washington, finishing 28-for-41 for 261 yards and three touchdowns. His strong exhibition play included leading a game-winning drive against the Baltimore Ravens. The Commanders opted to keep veteran Jacoby Brissett on the roster to back up starter Sam Howell. If Fromm goes unclaimed on waivers, he's a strong candidate to end up back in Washington and dress for games under the NFL's new rules.

Commanders Release Jake Fromm
11 months agoThe Washington Commanders released quarterback Jake Fromm on Tuesday, according to NFL.com. The former Georgia Bulldog was a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and spent the last two seasons with Washington after a brief stint with the New York Giants. Despite being in the league for four seasons, he has thrown just 60 passes, completing 27 of them for 210 yards and one touchdown to go along with three interceptions. The Commanders signed Marcus Mariota this offseason and added rookies Jayden Daniels and Sam Hartman to their quarterback room, so Fromm became expendable. The 25-year-old is unlikely to earn playing time anytime soon barring a slew of injuries around the NFL.

Jake Fromm Works Out With Giants
2 years agoThe New York Giants worked out quarterback Jake Fromm on Tuesday. The Giants are dealing with injuries to each of their top two quarterbacks as Daniel Jones has an ankle injury and Tyrod Taylor is in the league's concussion protocol. Fromm was in town as a contingency plan in case neither Jones nor Taylor is able to take the field in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers in London. Fromm appeared in three games for the Giants in 2021, completing 27 of his 60 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

Mike Glennon And Jake Fromm Could Both Play On Sunday
3 years agoNew York Giants head coach Joe Judge said both Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm could see reps at quarterback on Sunday against the Bears. While many beat writers suggest that Glennon should get the start and see the bulk of the work, neither quarterback is playable, even in two-quarterback leagues, given the uncertainty of their playing time. The duo also make the Chicago Bears an intriguing fantasy DST, but be careful because the Bears are the 28th-ranked fantasy defense over the last month, so they are a risky option to rest your fantasy title hopes on.

Jake Fromm Abysmal In First Career Start
3 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Jake Fromm started Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and completed six of 17 passes for 25 yards with no touchdowns and one interception while also rushing three times for 12 yards and a lost fumble. Mike Glennon replaced him in the second half. The 23-year-old made his first career start but led Giants to three points in the first half and ultimately benched with eight minutes remaining in the third quarter. New York hasn't announced who the team's starting quarterback will be against the Chicago Bears in Week 17. Still, it's a situation fantasy managers should avoid altogether regardless of which quarterback draws the start.
