Jake Faria With A Strong Outing Versus Philadelphia
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Faria had a strong outing versus Philadelphia Friday. He went 5 1/3 innings allowing only a single run while striking out seven. It was a great bounce back from the slaughter he endured last time in giving up eight runs in 1 2/3 innings. He has now had two positive outings out of the three he has made this season. In his 86 2/3 innings in the majors during 2017, Faria struck out 84 batters while issuing only 31 walks. Perhaps the biggest concern is that he also gave up 11 home runs in those 86 2/3 innings. Faria is slated to be the third starter for the Rays and should be owned in most 12-team leagues. His next outing is against Texas but at least it is at home.
