Jake Faria Starting Tuesday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Jake Faria will make the start against the Yankees on Tuesday. He will only likely go a few innings, with Jalen Beeks likely to pitch as well. Faria hasn't started a game since Aug. 15, so it would make sense that he won't last long in this game. The right-hander has plenty of starting experience but has been set back by injuries this year and hasn't been very effective in his 16 outings (11 starts), with a 5.17 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 6.9 K/9. Against a Yankees team trying to keep home-field advantage for the wild-card game, Faria should be avoided.
