Jake Faria Plays Catch For First Time
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Faria (oblique) played catch for the first time Saturday since his injury. In Faria's 86 2/3 innings in the majors during 2017, he struck out 84 batters while issuing only 31 walks. Perhaps the biggest concern is that he also gave up 11 home runs in those 86 2/3 innings. He has more solid outings than terrible ones in 2018, but he should be on the waiver wire in mixed leagues. Faria is looking for an August return.
