Jake Faria And Matt Andriese In Position To Benefit From Jake Odorizzi Trade
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitchers Jake Faria and Matt Andriese are set to benefit from the trade of Jake Odorizzi to the Twins. It had appeared that they would battle for the fifth spot in the rotation but now there is possibly room for both of them. They will be chased by prospects, which will likely be led by super-prospect Brent Honeywell. Faria came up and pitched great on his way to a 3.43 ERA with nearly a strikeout an inning. Andriese has had mediocre results so far, as he is below .500 and has had an ERA above 4.00 in each of his three seasons. His strikeout totals are unremarkable. Faria possesses the better potential and should be taken before Andriese, who is mostly a very deep league or AL-only option.
