Jake Diekman Takes Second Loss Friday
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Jake Diekman took the loss against the Seattle Mariners Friday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out two batters. It was his own wildness that really did him in, as the run came around to score after Dylan Moore reached on an infield hit, stole second base, and then moved to third and scored on two of Diekman's three wild pitches in the outing. This looks to be just a hiccup for the lefty, who has been solid all year to the tune of a 3.35 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings. He appears to be second in line for saves behind Lou Trivino, but he still offers plenty of value to fantasy managers with his eight holds and seven saves.
