Jake Cronenworth Leaves Tuesday's Game Early With Apparent Injury
5 days agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth (undisclosed) exited Tuesday's game against the Athletics in the third inning. Cronenworth grounded out in the third but was unable to run to first base and appeared to be grabbing at his leg. The training staff escorted him to the dugout, and he did not return for the bottom half of the inning, being replaced by Oscar Gonzalez. Fantasy managers should look for further details and updates after the game or on Wednesday. The 31-year-old has gotten off to a decent start at the plate, slashing .257/.409/.486 with two home runs and five RBI in 44 plate appearances. Should he need to miss any time, it appears that Gonzalez may see playing time. While he has hit well at Triple-A El Paso and carried some fantasy promise earlier in his career, fantasy managers would need to see Gonzalez perform in the big leagues before considering rostering him.
