Jake Cronenworth Fractures Finger
3 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth (finger) has been diagnosed with a small fracture on his left ring finger, according to manager Jayce Tingler. The 27-year-old was hit in the left hand by a changeup from Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urias in the top of the third inning on Friday. The injury could force the Padres to move outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. back to shortstop, creating an opportunity for the Padres to start Wil Myers, Tommy Pham, and Trent Grisham full-time. For Cronenworth, his terrific sophomore and All-Star season has likely come to an end, posting 20 HR, 63 RBI, 89 R, and four stolen bases with a .270/.348/.466 line across 581 at-bats.
