Jake Cave Heating Up, Raises Average To .299 On Wednesday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Jake Cave has suddenly thrust himself into the fantasy picture with a great start to July, and that start continued on Wednesday with a win over the Kansas City Royals. The 25-year-old started the scoring for the Twins with an RBI triple in the second inning, and ultimately went on to hit a single and score two runs. The outing raised his season batting average to .299 and his July average to .379. Remember, this was a guy who wasn’t guaranteed playing time not too long ago, but it will be hard for the Twins to deny this kind of productivity. Daily fantasy players might have to start watching Cave more closely going forward. It will be interesting to see if he can continue his hot July against the Tampa Bay Rays and Blake Snell on Thursday.
