Jake Cave Continues Strong July In Thursday's Win
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Jake Cave played an integral role in the team's victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. The 25-year-old singled and doubled twice in the game, scoring the Twins fifth run of the night. His 3-for-3 performance brings his July batting average to .400, and his season average to .265. It was also his second three-hit game of the week. It's a good sign for Cave, although fantasy players might reconsider before adding him to lineups. In the crowded outfield of a struggling Twins team, there's a risk of Cave being sent down to Triple-A at any moment. That said, if his hot streak continues, it might be hard to ignore him and hard for the team to justify demoting him, too.
