Jake Cave Collects RBI Triple In Monday's Win
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Jake Cave went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple, a run scored, and a strikeout in a 5-3 win over the Pirates on Monday. It hasn't been the best spring at the plate for Cave, though he raised his Grapefruit League average to .226, along with an impressive 11-8 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The 28-year-old was officially announced as a member of the Twins' Opening Day roster following the game, which was expected given his ability to hit right-handed pitching- career .803 OPS and 18 homers against righties compared to .671 and seven homers against lefties. Cave is expected to start the year in a lefty/righty platoon alongside veteran Kyle Garlick in left field, with Luis Arraez also factoring in.
