Jake Burger 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: One-Dimensional Power Available In The Middle Of Fantasy Drafts
Jake Burger followed up his breakout in 2023 with a similar 2024, slashing .250/.301/.460 with 29 homers in 579 plate appearances for the Miami Marlins in 2024. Power is his calling card in fantasy, and his 18.4% HR/FB was supported by his 12.3% rate of Brls/BBE, 96 mph average airborne exit velocity, and 115.5 max exit velocity. Burger also lifts the ball with a 40.6% FB%, taking full advantage of his HR/FB. Burger was traded to the Texas Rangers for Echedry Vargas, Max Acosta, and Brayan Mendoza this offseason. The move from Miami to Texas should also improve his home run total, as Texas's 116 HR factor for RHB is much better than Miami's 86. Unfortunately, Burger figures to lose runs and RBI as he goes from a featured piece of Miami's lineup to the seventh hitter for the Rangers. His average might also decline since Miami's 103 1B factor for RHB is higher than Texas's 96. The 25-year-old's 15.2% LD% and 12% IFFB% doom him to sub-.300 BABIPs regardless of the home park, and his 25.9% K% might increase unless Burger improves his 14.9% SwStr%. Still, there aren't many proven 30-HR bats available at Burger's ADP of 126.30. He's a great option if you need power at the midpoint of your draft.

Jake Burger Recalled And Starting Against Rockies
Jake Burger from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned infielder Blaine Crim to Round Rock in a corresponding move. Burger is starting at first base and batting seventh for Monday's series opener against the visiting Colorado Rockies and rookie right-hander Chase Dollander. Although Burger was demoted to the minors after hitting .190/.231/.330 with three homers, 12 RBI, 13 runs and 32 strikeouts in his first 30 games with the team, fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for power at the corner infield spots should give the 29-year-old some waiver-wire consideration now that he's back in Texas. In his six games with Round Rock on the farm, Burger went 9-for-23 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and five runs scored in 26 plate appearances.

Jake Burger Could Rejoin Rangers On Monday
Jake Burger could be recalled from Triple-A Round Rock before Monday's series opener against the Colorado Rockies, according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Burger has spent 10 days in the minors following his early-season demotion, so he's now eligible to return to the big-league roster if Texas wants him back. The 29-year-old right-handed slugger has gone 9-for-23 with two homers, a double, six RBI and five runs scored in his six games played for Round Rock, and he should be back with the Rangers this week as their regular first baseman despite hitting only .190/.232/.330 with a .562 OPS, three home runs, 12 RBI, 13 runs and 32 strikeouts in his first 30 games played for the team this year. Anyone looking for a corner-infield power in deeper fantasy leagues should consider scooping Burger up off the waiver wire if he's available.

Jake Burger Optioned To Minors
Jake Burger has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. The organization is hopeful that Burger can reset in the minors after an awful start to the season. Burger is slashing .190/.231/.330 with three homers and 12 RBI this season in Texas. He has shown the ability to play at the MLB level considering he smacked 29 long balls last season. Hopefully, Burger will be back in the majors shortly after getting his swing back in the minors. In a corresponding move, Blaine Crim has been recalled to take his spot on the roster. Crim has put together good numbers in the minors throughout the last few seasons. He has posted 20 homers or more in four straight seasons in the minor leagues. He could be worth a look in deep leagues, assuming he gets regular at-bats in Texas.

Jake Burger Returns From Illness
Jake Burger (illness) is back at first base and is hitting seventh for the Rangers on Wednesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jose Soriano at Globe Life Park. Burger missed the series-opening win over the Halos on Tuesday with a mild illness but will return for the second game of the series. The 29-year-old right-handed power hitter has gotten off to a slow start in his first year in Texas, going 8-for-53 (.151) with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI, only one walk and 15 strikeouts in 15 games played. Although he resides in a strong Rangers lineup, the fact that he's hitting near the bottom of the order gives him a low fantasy ceiling for DFS gamers. Burger has never faced Soriano in his career.
