Jake Arrieta Gets No-Decision In Philadelphia Debut
Jake Arrieta made his debut this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. Facing the lowly Miami Marlins, the 32-year-old lasted just four innings, surrendering three runs on three hits, walking two and striking out five. The second batter he faced wound up hitting a home run, with two further runs coming in the first. The positive for Arrieta was that he didn’t concede another hit after the first, allowing just one more baserunner as a result of a walk. With 74 pitches under his belt, his afternoon was over after four, not exactly a negative start, but a loss regardless.
