Jake Arrieta Gets No-Decision In Philadelphia Debut
7 years agoAfter signing late into spring training with the Philadelphia Phillies, former Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta made his debut this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. Facing the lowly Miami Marlins, the 32-year-old lasted just four innings, surrendering three runs on three hits, walking two and striking out five. The second batter he faced wound up hitting a home run, with two further runs coming in the first. The positive for Arrieta was that he didn’t concede another hit after the first, allowing just one more baserunner as a result of a walk. With 74 pitches under his belt, his afternoon was over after four, not exactly a negative start, but a loss regardless.
