3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta continued his struggles on Thursday versus the Colorado Rockies. Arrieta earned a no-decision and only lasted four innings in the contest. The veteran allowed nine hits, four runs, zero walks and struck out two on the afternoon. Three of the four runs by the Rockies came off of solo home runs. The veteran has been having a rough season in his return to the Cubs. Pitching prospects Keegan Thompson and Justin Steele have been getting stretched out in Triple-A Iowa for the Cubs and with the team selling off most of their star players at the trade deadline, it makes sense to start the youth movement and possibly move on from Arrieta or put him on the bullpen. Arrieta is 5-10 with a rough 6.34 ERA heading into Tuesday's contest versus the Milwaukee Brewers and should be avoided in all formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
