Jake Allen To Make Devils Debut Thursday
10 months agoNew Jersey Devils goaltender Jake Allen will make his team debut Thursday versus the Dallas Stars. The veteran netminder was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens prior to the March 8 NHL trade deadline but was unable to play until this point due to visa issues. "He's a veteran guy," Devils coach Travis Green said. "A good goalie in the league for a while now ... I'm looking forward to getting Jake in the net and get him up and running as quick as possible." The 33-year-old has struggled in recent seasons on some poor Habs teams, working to a 3.65 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage across 21 games this season. He was part of a three-goalie tandem in Montreal alongside Sam Montembeault and Cayden Primeau.
